The NOVAFOODIES Traceability App is Now Available Globally!

During the M24 meeting of the NOVAFOODIES project, hosted in the city of Cork, Ireland, the global launch of the NOVAFOODIES Mobile App was officially announced.
Following an initial phase of testing and implementation in Greece and Italy, the app is now globally available for download, marking a significant milestone in the digitalization and transparency of the seafood supply chain.
The app was designed and developed by GO INFOTEAM® as part of Work Package 6 – IT tools development and monitoring for traceability and enhanced trust, led by ITENE.
Its mission? To put in consumers’ hands a simple, intuitive, and technologically advanced tool that provides access to key information about the seafood they purchase. The app achieves this objective through the use of technologies like IoT, Blockchain, RFID, and QR systems, allowing users to:
- track the product’s journey in real time;
- verify the origin and quality of the seafood product;
- access certified data on environmental sustainability, production methods, and any treatments the product has undergone;
- increase food awareness, helping to counter misinformation about product origins.
The ultimate goal is to build a new relationship of trust between producers and consumers, based on transparency, data accessibility and responsible decision-making.
Thus, the NOVAFOODIES App is now available for free on the two main digital platforms:
You can also download the mobile App via the official landing page where you will find more details about it.
Once installed, simply search for the product of interest or scan the QR code on the label displayed in the selected stores and check all related traceability data.
The global launch of the NOVAFOODIES App marks a crucial moment for innovation in the seafood supply chain. Making data on the origin and quality of seafood more accessible and understandable means promoting a greater consumption awareness, encouraging companies to continuously improve their production standards.
In a world where digital transformation and sustainability are increasingly interconnected, solutions like NOVAFOODIES stand as a concrete example of how technology can make a real difference, benefiting the sea, the environment, and people alike.
