Turning vision into action: How NOVAFOODIES partners are rethinking aquaculture

Best practice showcases finalised – A milestone for sustainable aquaculture Training.
We are excited to announce the finalisation of the best practice videos developed as part of the NOVAFOODIES training course for professionals in the aquaculture sector. These videos are a key component of our mission to promote sustainability and innovation in aquaculture, with a special focus on the versatile potential of algae – not only as a nutritious food source, but also as a raw material for a wide range of applications, from packaging to biofuel and beyond.
Throughout the project, partners from across Europe have collaborated to create insightful and inspiring video content that showcases their contributions to a more sustainable aquaculture industry. Each video highlights nature-positive practices and innovative technologies – including approaches to Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA), diverse cultivation methods for micro- and macroalgae, and cutting-edge processing techniques. These examples reflect the NOVAFOODIES vision of a greener, more resilient food system.
The coordination and finalisation of the video series were led by LVA, who ensured a cohesive and high-quality outcome. These videos will be integrated into the NOVAFOODIES training course, which will soon be available to everyone interested in sustainable aquaculture. The course will provide learners with practical insights and diverse perspectives from across the sector, making it a valuable resource for professionals, educators, and innovators alike.
